Former Bok prop Ockie has died
2019-12-04
Former Springbok and Transvaal prop Ockie Oosthuizen passed away at the age of 64 early this morning.
Oosthuizen had battled colon cancer for the past few months. Tributes started to pouring in as the news of the former Springboks’ passing emerged.
Oosthuizen had nine test caps and his final international was at Ellis Park against England in 1984.
The strong front-ranker was captain of Transvaal and also represented Western Transvaal and Northern Transvaal during his playing days. He spent his final years living in Stellenbosch and owned the wine farm, Molenvliet.
